What grip socks actually do

Grip socks are performance socks with rubber pads under the sole. The pads hold the sock to the insole, the knit holds your foot to the sock, and the shift inside the shoe disappears. That shift is the fraction of a second you lose on a cut, a sprint start or a hard stop. Remove it and the first move is yours.

Every pair of Seven performance socks runs the same four systems: FitLock Grip™ hex pads under the sole, a CoolVent™ channel at the calf, a ZeroSeam™ toe and ArcFlex™ hold through the midfoot. The full breakdown is on the tech page.

Not only for football

The grip works anywhere your foot loads and drives. Football boots on grass or turf. Padel and tennis, where the point is decided by the first step. Handball courts. The gym floor on leg day. One pair, every surface.

Sizes and colors

Three sizes: S (EU 38–42), M (EU 42–45), L (EU 45–52). Seven colors: White and Black as the matchday classics, Red, Teal, Yellow, Blue and Green as the training rotation. Same grip in every one. Junior players aged 8 to 12 have their own line.

Grip socks or normal football socks

A normal football sock is a tube of knit. It holds your leg warm and holds the shin pad up, and that is all it does. Inside the boot it slides, because nothing stops it. Grip socks add the pads under the sole and the hold across the instep, so the boot, the sock and the foot move as one piece. Most players wear both: the grip sock on the foot, the team sock cut at the ankle and pulled over it, so the club color still shows.

Who they are for

Anyone whose sport is won on the first step. Football on grass, turf or a five-a-side cage. Padel and tennis, where you stop and change direction every three seconds. Handball and basketball on hard courts. Gym sessions with heavy lifts, where a foot that shifts under the bar costs you the rep. If your foot moves inside your shoe, grip socks fix it.

How to look after them

Machine wash cold, inside out, with the pads facing in. No fabric softener, it coats the rubber and the grip goes quiet. Air dry. Treated like that, the pads outlast the knit.

Questions we get asked

Do grip socks actually work? Yes. The pads stop the sock sliding on the insole and the instep hold stops the foot sliding in the sock. Remove both slips and your foot is where you put it, every step. Players notice it first on a hard stop.

Which players wear grip socks? Most professionals in Europe do, under the team sock. In Egypt, Seven grip socks are worn in competitive matches by professional players, and by club and academy players across Cairo.

What are socks with grips called? Grip socks, anti-slip socks or football grip socks. Same thing: a performance sock with rubber pads under the sole. Pilates socks are a different product, made for a studio floor, not a boot.

Where can I buy grip socks in Egypt? Here. Seven Performance is an Egyptian brand, stock is in Cairo, delivery is 1 to 2 days in Cairo and 2 to 4 days elsewhere, cash on delivery available. Adult sizes S to L and a junior line for ages 8 to 12.

What size should I get? Take your normal boot size. S covers EU 38 to 42, M covers 42 to 45, L covers 45 to 52. The knit is firm on purpose; if you sit at the top of a size, stay in it. 12 of 12 buyers who told us said true to size.

Can I wear them for padel? Yes, and many do. The grip that holds a foot in a football boot holds it in a padel shoe the same way, and padel is the sport with the most first steps per point.
